HBSOnTime.com spring cleaning checklist

Spring cleaning is an essential process, in order to get everything cleaned up & ready for the new season, including Easter. However, it’s much easier said than done, considering that spring cleaning is equivalent to general cleaning, therefore this takes a lot of time and implies a lot of effort & dedication. When you engage in such an activity, it can be quite difficult to keep track of everything you have to do or have already done, as well as remember if you checked all the tasks on the list. The good news is that we’ve compiled a to-do list for every important room in the house, which we present to you below:

1. Supplies. Generally, for spring cleaning, you’ll need a vacuum, a mop or steam cleaner, dusting materials, paper towels, a broom, storage boxes, and a new furnace filter;

2. All rooms. In all rooms, you should make sure that you wipe the baseboards, clean the air vents, dust the blinds & windows, clean the windows, mop or vacuum the floors, replace the HVAC/furnace filters, and declutter any drawers or messy areas;

3. Living room. Here, you should dust around & behind the TV, clean the fireplace, as well as the window treatments or furniture. Last but not least, polish hardwood floors and wash, vacuum, or replace dog beds;

4. Bedroom. Dust the ceiling fan, clean or replace the sheets, vacuum the mattress, clean & vacuum under the bed (many people forget to do that), as well as wash the pillows – this should do it for a clean & fresh bedroom, helping you relax better after such effort;

5. Kitchen. Don’t forget to throw away outdated food & spices, defrost/clean the fridge & freezer, steam clean the grout & appliances, polish the silverware, clean the inside of cabinets & drawers, dust the top of cabinets and above the fridge, steam clean the microwave, de-clutter the junk drawer, clean the oven, as well as the pantry shelves & around the trash (as you can see, here you will have the most work);

6. Bathroom. You should throw away expired cosmetics, steam clean the mirrors, countertops & sink, change the shower curtain, steam clean the floors & bathtub, clean the toilet (including behind it), and unclog the drains;

7. Closets. You shouldn’t forget to donate or throw away old clothes & shoes, pack up the winter clothes, wash & hang up the spring clothes, dust & wipe down the shelves, as well as clean or replace the laundry basket;

8. Outside. Last but not least, spring cleaning shouldn’t be limited to the interior, of course, especially since we’re talking about an activity associated with a… season. So, clean the light fixtures, wash the outdoor furniture, clean the sliding glass door tracks, steam clean the cement & cracks, clean and repair the gutters, as well as organize the garage. Of course, with your permission, the last task on the list would be to… plant flowers since we’re talking about the coming of the season associated with them. Good luck with your work!
