How to get rid of the Christmas tree, in the cleanest way possible?

We don’t want to play the role of the Grinch, because we also love Christmas, which we spend together with our extended families, in complete peace and harmony, but we have to remind you that this magical period, which also includes New Year’s Eve, will end at a given moment, after the first week of January or so. And then, you’ll have a rather difficult mission: that of getting rid of the natural tree in the living room or in the hall of your house, without filling all the carpets with needles. However, by reading the article further and following the described steps thoroughly, you’ll solve the problem quickly and in the… cleanest way possible. Without further ado, here’s what you have to do:

1. Take down the ornaments. First of all, you have to remove all the ornaments from the tree: the Christmas balls, the tinsel, the star at the top, as well as all the other elements that beautify the tree and bring the festive atmosphere year after year. Carefully wrap each one in paper or another packaging, to protect them until the next time you use them. Also, don’t forget to fill the remaining space in the storage box with other napkins, to further protect the ornaments and prevent them from moving;

2. Take down the lights. Secondly, carefully unfold the garland or garlands of lights around the tree, without them getting tangled or damaged and without too many needles falling, if possible. A useful trick is to hold one end of the strand in your hand, while wrapping it around your elbow, in order to create a large loop, then tie it with a string at the end. For practical reasons, but also for security, we recommend that you pack the strings of lights in bags that are resistant to water and moisture;

3. Put the tree in a bag. Surprisingly or not, your living room or hallway shouldn’t be filled with hundreds, maybe even thousands, or tens of thousands of needles when you remove the tree. Instead, remember how you brought it home, more precisely wrapped in netting by the people you bought it from. Simply use a Christmas tree removal bag, which you pull up and tie off at the top, thus creating a trap for the needles. Once everything is set, take the tree out of its stand and take it out of your house, for disposal;

4. Get rid of the needles that fell from the tree. Last but not least, it’s time to remove the “stubborn” tree needles from carpets, tiles, parquet, and floor. We don’t recommend vacuuming them, as this can jam the brushes and completely ruin the equipment, but rather use the hose or the crevice attachment to suck up the needles or simply use a rubber broom instead. For more problematic areas, such as upholstery or floor cracks, it might be helpful to use a large lint roller or duct tape.

In conclusion, it’s not so difficult to remove the tree, even if, along with it, the joy of winter holidays and free days also disappears and you risk “bumping” into the professional realities and the resolutions that you set for the new year.
